Mirror’s Edge in real

http://embed.parkour-videos.com/mirrors-edge-real-parkour.mp4

Do you know Mirror’s Edge ? If you’re fond of Parkour and/or like video games, you probably do ! Mirror’s Edge is a first person platform video game available on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in which you are controling a Traceuse (parkour girl) named Faith Connors. The mission of Faith is “to stay out of sight and to use rooftops and other means to help deliver physical messages between revolutionary groups within the city.” (Source : Wikipedia)

It’s a really nice parkour game with a good gameplay.

Well, somebody had the idea to make a parkour video filmed like Mirror’s Edge. There is not only parkour, but also skate, bike etc. The result it nice and fun.

Note : I strongly recommend to do not train with gloves and jeans !

Parkour video of Blane : “Origins”

YouTube Preview Image

Screenshots of Blane's parkour video : Origins I personnally think that Blane is one of the best Traceur on earth. When he moves, we can see how much he has worked. We can see he has worked three ways :

  • physically
  • by practising each movement hundred times
  • by working on the particular move/passement he is showing

He is an example that every traceur should follow. I love him (no, I’m not gay), I’m a fan, and I love his videos.

The I’m presenting to you is named “Origins”. Blane presents it like that on Youtube :

video Blane parkour : Origins

On September 10th 2008, it will have been exactly five years since I began practicing Parkour.

This features a selection of clips from all of the footage I have recorded during my training so far and the vast majority will be familiar to those who have seen my other videos. I wanted to put together something to look back on in years to come that reminded me of the first half decade.

When you’ll watch the , you will be impressed by the control he has.

CronicasPk – a Spanish Parkour TV report

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8962033594572240686

Screenshots of the video

Well, I still have the aim of adding parkour videos which were available on the old version of Parkour-videos.com (read : “Parkour-videos.com is (re)launched !”). To resume this : this is an old spanish TV Report “CronicasPk” from UMParkour.com. I personnally think there are too much acrobatics & tricks in this .

Dave Sedgley

Parkour – “The Nature Of Challenge” is a parkour documentary produced by Paul Maunder (you maybe know him as “Obsidian”), written by Dave Sedgley, and with many practitionners (if you have the names, tell me ;-) ).

Here is how Paul Maunder introduce his video on Youtube :

“we have tried our best to ensure that this short film gives the most accurate information possible about parkour and the methods and ideas behind it”

This is a short film of 37 min long (short for a film, long for a parkour video but perfect for a documentary). Paul continues with this :

It is a deliberate departure from the typical “media parkour” you might see on TV and aims to provide reliable information to both newcomers and experienced practitioners alike.

The documentary is really great. In fact : it’s probably one of the best I’ve ever seen. There are some nice Parkour parts performed by good Traceurs, some nice and inspiring training parts and some “blabla” which share the feeling of Parkour.

It is divided in 4 parts on Youtube (it was too long for only one). Paul says : “have a look and judge for yourself”. I’m personally sure you’ll like it ;-)

Freerunning Showreel 2009 from Levi Meeuwenberg

screenshots

From time to time, I receive links to parkour videos in my mail box, sent from the contact form of the site. Those last months, as you’ve probably seen, I just ignored them for different reasons. I just marked them with a “star” (you know, in Gmail) to find them easily in the future. As I want to publish again videos on Parkour-videos.com , regularly I hope, I publish this one I’ve received from a guy named Jayson 3 days ago (thanks to him).

It’s a freerunning video, not a pure parkour vid

This video is not a pure parkour video. It combines parkour and / tricks (remember : are not part of Parkour !). So, yes, it’s a freerunning video. I don’t like to use this word because it comes from a misunderstanding. Well… If I post this vid, it’s because there are some really nice parkour part, and yes, some really awful tricks. Levi Meeuwenberg is good. Here is what he says about himself on the Youtube’s page :

Levi Meeuwenberg : Freerunning Showreel 2009 Michigan native, Levi Meeuwenberg, began his career with a bang by performing in Madonna’s Confessions Tour and Jump music video. He went on to initiate a freerunning class in his home town and now helps run the Michigan Parkour Club. He has done stunts for a K-Swiss freerunning commercial and the pilot episode of the TV show Chuck, numerous live performances including the 2007 Taurus World Stunt Awards, and was the last man standing out of 100 contestants on the Japanese game show Ninja Warrior on G4.

parkour-traceur-newbie Wow, this guy is so good ! With a red T-Shirt like a Super Hero, he moves from a wall to another with speed, fluidity and power. He has a total control of his body and his environment (or not). I don’t remember to have seen a like this before.

As always, the active traceurs in the arctic circle were filming santas occasions today. This year the filming ended up in a full scale catastrophe! It is game over for Santa!
